LACI has recently announced the launch of AIR: a pioneering artist-in-residence program for Los Angeles based artists working with climate change, sustainability, and related themes. AIR provides artists with a stipend of $10,000 over the six month residency period, access to and training in LACI’s Advanced Prototyping Center (a $10M+ facility including lasercutting, 3D printing, waterjet, wet labs, etc), and connections with LACI’s network of thought leaders. Read the AIR press release here.
Applications are open through February 16, 2018; and can be accessed here. For the first cycle, we’ll be choosing two artists from the open call. I’ve attached information for artists to this email.
We’re working hard to reach diverse communities throughout Los Angeles. We would love both your participation in AIR, and your help in sharing this open call with your networks. If appropriate, please forward this information to five friends or colleagues, and ask them to do the same. You can also share the AIR FB announcement using this link .
In addition to the residency itself, AIR is hosting a series of artists’ talks and professional development workshops throughout the year: beginning with a Q&A session for applicants on Thursday February 1st, 5 – 7 PM. Register for the Q&A here.
Help spread the word about AIR.
