Getty College Council seeking CSUN representatives

The J. Paul Getty Museum seeks students to participate in the College Council for the 2017 College Night, which will be held on April 24th, 2017, at the Getty Center.

Students on the College Council will play a central role in planning College night. Working in collaboration with Getty staff, students will gain experience in the development of a major museum program.

Students interested in joining the College Council will develop skills in the following areas:

  • Event Planning
  • Marketing & Outreach (digital, paper, and word of mouth)
  • Nonprofit Arts Programming
  • Public Relations

What to expect as a member of the College Council:

The College Council will have the opportunity to actively shape the College Night experience. At meetings you will have the opportunity to work together to come up with the ideas for student outreach, activities, and engagement with the Getty College Night. You will learn about different museum departments who all work together to make a program as

large as College Night happen. You will have the opportunity to share the various ways college students can engage with the Getty’s exhibitions and resources.

Time commitment:

Hours will vary depending on your schedule and the tasks you take on. We anticipate meeting regularly between the months of January through April at the Getty Center, with additional access to an online discussion and shared drive. Additionally, students would

have outside opportunities to conduct research and perform outreach. We will do our best to accommodate students’ class schedules.

Responsibilities will increase in the weeks leading up to the event on April 24th, and students should anticipate spending the full day at the Getty Center on April 24th, 2017, the day of College Night.

Interested students should send an email to jtumalad@getty.edu, addressed to Jennelyn Tumalad, no later than 3 p.m. November 14th, 2016 and include the following information as a single pdf document (see below).
